About this Page:
This website has many types of file for download. Please see the sections and tutorials below to answer your questions. If you get stuck or can't get the answers you need, please go to the bottom of this page and send us a message. Please allow us a little time to respond as we might be in the field for a week or more... but we will do our best to answer your questions in a timely manner.

Google Earth Files:
We are now offering our GPS files in "Google Earth" format so that visitors can get a 3d-area-look at where they want to go. Please note that we are still in the process of converting our GPS files over to Google Earth so not every park has it as of Feb 27th 2010. We are hoping to have all park offerings converted over by April 1st 2010. To receive updates on our Google Earth progress, please sign up for our email list. For help using these files or general information about Google Earth, please see this tutorial.

GPS Software:
We feature GPS Trackmaker software because it interfaces well with a wide variety of GPS makes and models. This software is FREE to use and it can be downloaded from gpstm.com. To make the uploading process easier and more accurate, we save all of our GPS Files in "GTM" file format which is the native format for GPS Trackmaker. To date, this software is only available for Windows Based Operating Systems on PC. We are currently looking for a substitute for Mac and other operating systems. We will make an announcement when we find one. To receive a notification when that happens, please sign up for our emailing list at email list. Once you download this software, you will be able to upload our GPS files into your GPS receiver as well as download your personal GPS data from your receiver to your PC. For instructions on how to use this software, please see this tutorial.

GPS Files:
Our GPS files contain "Waypoint Data" and/or "Trackpoint Data".  Waypoint data is used to indicate trail forks, destination information, and other points of interest.  Trackpoints are used to depict trail information & shape.  Originally, most of our files contained only "Waypoint Data" but we are in the process of converting all GPS files over to contain both "Waypoint Data" and "Trackpoint Data". We expect to be done with this conversion by April 1st 2010. For more information regarding our GPS files, please see this tutorial.
